Inés Leicester
Artist Statement
b.1999
Midlands based artist, Inés Leicester, has a mixed media practice; that ranges from creating contemporary collages from aged magazines, to more digital based work like creating fonts and gifs.
Her experience of working with GCSE students made her consider the restrictions of state taught, curriculum-based art education. Therefore, in more recent years her work has explored the artistic possibilities of unlearning, childlike play and domestic spaces.
Currently, her practice has a strong connection with the art education system; and Inés' MA studies have a particular interest in the university student experience and regional disparities.
